Insurance Rentals
Don’t let an accident slow you down. We offer on-site rentals and direct insurance billing to keep your life moving seamlessly.
The Ultimate Convenience
One Stop. No Hassle.
At North Amherst Motors, we understand that being without your vehicle is a major inconvenience. Because we have our own in-house rental department, you don’t have to wait for a third-party rental company to pick you up or deal with coordinating multiple locations.
Simply drop off your damaged vehicle for repairs, sign your rental agreement at our front desk, and drive away in one of our clean, late-model cars. When your repairs are finished, leave the rental with us and drive your own car home.
Direct Insurance Billing
If you have rental coverage on your policy, or if another party's insurance is paying, we bill them directly. Less out-of-pocket stress for you.
Discounted Shop Rates
Don't have rental coverage? No problem. We offer significantly discounted daily "shop rates" exclusively for customers having their vehicle repaired with us.

The Process
How Insurance Rentals Work
We offer a full suite of mechanical services. Whether your check engine light is on, you hear a strange noise, or it’s just time for routine maintenance, we have you covered.
1. Verify Coverage
Let us know you need a rental when scheduling your repair. We’ll verify your policy limits (e.g., $30/day) with your insurance company.
2. Drop Off & Sign
When you drop your car off for repairs, present your driver’s license and a credit card (for deposit). Sign the rental agreement in minutes.
3. Drive Away
Get into your clean rental car right from our lot. We handle the direct billing to your insurance while we fix your vehicle.
4. Swap & Go
When your repairs are done, simply return the rental to us and drive your own beautifully restored car home.
Common Questions About Insurance Rentals
Do I need a credit card if insurance is paying?
Yes. Even when an insurance company is paying for the daily rental rate, we require a major credit card (with a minimum $300 authorization) in the renter’s name to hold for a security deposit, potential fuel charges, or tolls.
What if my repairs take longer than my rental coverage allows?
Most insurance policies have a maximum limit (e.g., 30 days or $900 total). If your repairs exceed this limit due to parts delays or extensive damage, the remaining rental cost becomes an out-of-pocket expense. We will communicate with you closely if you approach your limit and offer our discounted shop rate for the remainder.
Do I need to buy rental insurance?
You are responsible for any damage to the rental vehicle. You should check with your personal auto insurance agent to see if your comprehensive and collision coverages transfer to a temporary substitute vehicle. If they do not, we offer optional coverages you can purchase at the counter.
